My selection as a Texas Super Lawyer by my peers, as reported by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, is a testament to my ability and success as a trial lawyer.  Less than 5% of Texas lawyers have been so designated.  I have been Board Certified in Personal Injury and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for 28 years.  That accomplishment has been attained by less than 3% of all Texas attorneys.  I am a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, signifying achievement in trial advocacy by receiving verdicts and settlements in excess of One Million Dollars.  I approach every case using the skills that I developed early in my career as a prosecutor in Beaumont and Houston and as a Special Agent in the F.B.I.

I devoted 8 years of my law practice defending insurance companies and big corporations and became a partner in an El Paso defense firm.  Through that experience, I am not intimidated by the tactics often employed by big firms representing big business.  I am uniquely qualified to advance the claims of individuals and their families against insurance companies that engage in bad faith.
